A key part of the role of the selected composers happens during the concerts. Composers are asked to create a 5-10 minute presentation to share with the audience their process, inspirations, compositional techniques and any relevant material to show what makes their music unique. Additional media, text, musical demonstrations or any other creative ways of explaining your work are encouraged. Selected works and composers will be featured in the CMI’s two-concert festival during May 2026, in Winnipeg, MB.
Each chosen composer will receive a $100 honorarium.
